Macmahon launches ROCKSTAR Indigenous employment and training program

Macmahon today launched an Indigenous employment and training initiative that will see 300 Indigenous people start their career in the mining and construction sectors over the next 18 months.

The ROCKSTAR program (Real Opportunities and Careers – Kick Starting Today's Aboriginal Role-models) was formally launched by Federal Special Minister of State Gary Gray at Macmahon's workshop and training facility today.

Macmahon Chief Executive Officer Nick Bowen said the program includes almost $4.4 million over two years from the Federal Government's Indigenous Employment Program and would create genuine opportunities for Indigenous people to forge exciting careers in mining and construction.
