SIMP feedback collated for final release

Feedback for the Ichthys Project draft principal Social Impact Management Plan (SIMP) was welcomed from 18 November, closing today.

Comments received from stakeholders are now being considered in a revision of the SIMP, expected to be published early in 2014.

The finalised SIMP will outline potential social opportunities and impacts for Northern Territory communities that may result from Project activities – predominately during the construction phase – and how these are proposed to be managed. The SIMP has been developed from years of research, assessment, consultation, analysis and stakeholder engagement.

Development of a SIMP was made a condition of Project approvals following the release and approval of the Ichthys Project Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).

The fact sheets developed for the November and December public comment period are available here to provide an overview of the key issues.
