Case study: Award winning I-CARE aeromedical system
INPEX won the Highly Commended award for the Ichthys LNG Project's I-CARE aeromedical system at the 2014 APPEA National Health, Safety and Environment Conference held in Perth in September 2014.
Part of a A$ 45 million contract with aeromedical charity CareFlight, the integrated INPEX-CareFlight Aeronautical Engineers Australia (AEA) Remote Evacuation (I-CARE) system was designed for the Project to allow a patient to be transferred seamlessly in a MEDEVAC from an offshore clinic to hospital on the same stretcher and life support system, irrespective of the mode of transport.
“What makes the I-CARE system so unique is that patients no longer have to change stretchers or monitoring equipment while being transferred to hospital by helicopter, jet and then road ambulance,” INPEX Director HSEQ, Craig Haymes said.
