INPEX is committed to actively engaging and building sustainable relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the communities in which we operate.

Our expansive engagement and community investment programmes and initiatives largely focus on supporting education, employment, training and development, the environment and heritage.

In the Northern Territory, which is where the Ichthys LNG Project’s onshore facilities are located, we work closely with the Larrakia people - the traditional owners of the land.

We also support Aboriginal organisations in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, in Broome – the logistics hub location for our helicopter and marine services – and in the community of Djarindjin, on the Dampier Peninsula.

INPEX also recognises important Aboriginal events and customs through employee cultural awareness sessions, and participation in Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week.

These commitments to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are outlined in our 2016 Reconciliation Action Plan, which is endorsed by Reconciliation Australia.
